As with every Chinese festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival has its own special food – moon cake. It is a kind of pastry with various fillings and different artistic patterns on the surface depicting the legends of the festival.
Before this year’s Mid autumn festival, students and faculty of Food Nutrition and Inspection Department made more than 10000 moon cakes and presented them to all college students and faculty as festival gifts. They devoted their free time to preparing the dough and fillings, molding the pastry, baking and packaging the cakes. Now the fragrance of moon cakes is filling the air of the campus, and the celebration of moon festival will soon start.
