To train students household skills and to increase students’ social adaptability, the college decides to offer the first year students a series of courses including Etiquette, Home Cooking Design, Diet Nutrition and Production, Flower Art, Clothes Washing and Ironing, Household Cleaning and Furniture Care, Elderly Care, Personal and Property Safety, Usage of Household Electric Appliances, Infants and Toddlers’ Nurturing. Students are required to finish 32 hours of lectures within a year to be equated with 1 credit hour. Those who successfully pass the exams will be granted certificates, and be recommended to housekeeping companies for internship jobs in the summer.
Home Services and Management Major of the Department of Health Services is a special major of the college , admitting full time students and also providing vocational trainings for house keepers, maternity matron, senior care workers, and nursing care workers. This year Fujian Demonstration Base of Home Services Training was awarded to the college by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Fujian Government.
