On Hwa Nan campus, we often meet a foreign teacher with fair skin, straight nose, blonde hair and bright eyes. Her name is Amy, a foreign teacher deeply loved by her students. Amy is lively and friendly like an elder sister to her students. Her teaching is never confined to text books and her class is full of cheers and laughter. Students not only study English in her class but also practice cooking, increase sports awareness and learn cooperation. Amy loves travelling and sports, enjoys cooking, and takes pleasure in sharing her knowledge and experience.
Travelling is Amy’s favorite. She has travelled to many countries such as China, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Ireland, England and France. In her trip, she happily experienced various cultures.
Amy is fond of different kinds of delicacies and is very good at cooking. Her grandfather is a chef and her father also knows how to cook. Because of her family influence, Amy likes to learn cooking and loves cooking with others so as to improve her communication and cooperation with others.
Amy likes sports especially yoga, rafting, swimming and football. She joins a football team in Fuzhou coached by two English and two Chinese. Since most of the team members are men, Amy has to make a lot more efforts to play with them, though she feels very happy playing, partying and traveling with the team members.
Amy enjoys her life and she shares her life experience with students in her class, bringing them a lot of fun by teaching English in playing games, painting or making bakery. She also introduces western festivals to students and encourages them to know more about western culture.
Amy’s education background helps her a lot in her teaching. She speaks fluent Chinese and knows well about Chinese culture. She came to study in China in the year of 2015 and spent two semesters in Xi’an and Shanghai. After graduating from UPS with both degrees in Chinese and Economics, she decided to teach in China so as to continue studying Chinese and to learn more about Chinese culture.
