On April 22, 2017, the 3rd Alumni Assembly of Fuzhou Hwa Nan College of Letters and Science was held in Yu Baosheng Lecture Hall, attended by Director Zhou Jianmin from Approval Divion of Fuzhou Civil Affairs Bureau, Senior Staff Qiu Jin from Higher Education Office of Fuzhou Education Bureau, College Council Chair Chen Zhongying, College President Su Mengna, Party Secretary Chen Shangwang， College Vice President Huang Jie, College Consultant Chen Hui, College Consultant Lin Benchun and eighty other members. The conference was moderated by Zhang Qiuping, College Office Director and Executive Director of the 2nd Alumni Association Council.
College Vice President Huang Jie gave reports on the 2nd Alumni Association work and preparation work for the 3rd Alumni Association. College Accounting Office Director Li Xiaojing made the financial report for the 2nd Alumni Association. Representatives voted on the above reports and elected council members. After that, the first council meeting of the 3rd Alumni Association was held, electing Zhuo Yan as Council Chair, Wang Qiuxiang, Wu Yunxuan, Wu Mohan, Chen Xiangyin, Huang Shaoqing, and Cheng Xiaojiang as Vice Chairs, Wang Qiuxiang as General Secretary, and Huang Fei as Chief Supervisor.
According to the motion of all council members, the assembly appoints College Council Chair Chen Zhongying Honorary Life Council Chair. Chen Wei, outstanding alumna residing in Canada and Zhou Xin outstanding alumna residing in the US are appointed as special consultants to the Council of the 3rd Alumni Association.
Newly elected Council Chair Zhuo Yan made an inaugural speech. Director Zhou Jianmin from Approval Divion of Fuzhou Civil Affairs Bureau, Senior Staff Qiu Jin from Higher Education Office of Fuzhou Education Bureau, College Council Chair Chen Zhongying congratulated newly elected Council Chair, Vice Chairs, General Secretary and Chief Supervisor and wished them take up their duties sincerely, work hard to reform and innovate, and bring the Alumni Association into full play in the college development to improve its education quality and level. Conference concluded with bursts of applause.
