On Oct. 18, the unveiling ceremony of Sa Benbao Grain Research Lab was held in the lab building.  Sa Benbao is a scientist in Applied Chemistry, making outstanding contributions to the ship science research of People’s Republic of China.  She graduated from Chemistry Department, Hwa Nan College in 1950.  The lab is donated by her for the research and production of special food to meet nutritious, psychological and physical needs of senior citizen.  Sa Benmao, close relatives and friends,  President Su, teachers and students from Food and Nutrition Department attended the ceremony. After the unveiling ceremony, Sa was given a tour to the labs and was invited to taste yogurt and pastry made by students and teachers from the Food and Nutrition Department. She made suggestions on the lab construction and encourage students and faculty to be innovative and not to be afraid of difficulties. 

During this trip, Sa was also invited to join young alumnae’s reunions and give a speech at the college 109th anniversary celebration meeting.  Her life experience and philosophy greatly inspire Hwa Nan people to pursue their dreams and make dreams come true.  Sa also donated some of her prizes and awards to the college, which are displayed at the College History Gallery.
