Linda Li Jing, a renowned China TV host and fashion anchor, is a graduate of Class 2003 from Tourism Management Department. After graduation, she started her career as a model and won Top Ten in Asia New Face Model Contest and the First Auto Show Girl contest. Later she was invited to co-host Pretty Woman program for Travel Channel, meanwhile modeling for MOTO cell phone, Haier washing machine, Nescafe, Kappa Sportswear, Dior commercials and Vogue magazine. She frequented “Big Four” Fashion Weeks, attended premieres of Dior and Channel, and host Gucci event.
Linda Li Jing defined Hwa Nan as a ladder to her success and a turning point in her life. At the college, she joined the College Modeling Team and began to realize how much she enjoyed the feeling of self release on the runway. She kept working hard and step by step participated performances outside the campus, accumulating performing experience and establishing wide contacts. Then she started to organize performances, laying solid foundation for her future modeling career.
With the dream of seeing more of the world and broadening her views, she moved to Beijing after graduation without hesitation. In Beijing, though she shared a room with others and experienced loneliness and hardship of life, she insisted on preparing for every model audition carefully, as she knew in each audition there is a swarm of candidates vying for only a dozen positions for the final qualifiers. The most difficult time in Beijing is when she had only 100 RMBs in her pocket. She wrote diary to encourage herself to work harder so that things will work out well. With her determination and perseverance, she finally succeeded.
On Spet. 11, Linda Li Jing made a special trip from Shanghai to Fuzhou seeing Council Chair Chen Zhongying, former teachers and fellow students. She is touched when hearing Hwa Nan grand old ladies in their 80s and 90s are still working on what they are passionate about. She had cordial conversation with Chair Chen and other administrators and expressed her gratitude to the college and former teachers because their words supported her to move forward in her downfalls and their thoughts and deeds greatly influenced her. Meeting with grand old ladies at this trip inspired her to remain true to original aspiration and to keep mission firmly in mind. She wishes her fellow students to be independent and strong so as to confront and face up to the difficulties.
