2017 College Teaching and Research Experience Exchange Meeting

 

 

2017 College Teaching and Research Experience Exchange Meeting was held on Jan. 10. The meeting was moderated by Associate Dean of Teaching Affairs Cheng Ruxiu and Dean of Teaching Affairs Lin Xiao made explanations about this meeting.
In 2017, the college won one First Prize of Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. Nine research proposals were approved for young and mid career faculty research projects in Fujian Province. Fifty-nine articles were published in academic journals and two of them was indexed in Sci-expanded. Twenty-five awards were granted for student skill competition at or above provincial level. Thirty-three articles were received for this meeting. Department of International Business Management won the best organization award. President Su, Party Secretary Chen, Vice President Huang, Deputy Party Secretary Ren and Consultant Chen gave awards and prizes to winners.

The theme of this year’s meeting focused on reform and inter-disciplinary immersion. Chen Xiaomei, Xie Xiling, Zhang Meiling, Chen Bing, Yuan Yuan and Xu Min gave reports on topics of faculty and student team building, teaching strategies, technology innovation, and inter-disciplinary cooperative innovation and entrepreneurship education. Liu Wenjun and Liu Yapei shared their research results on combination of visionary and auditory art in teaching.

President Su firmly approved the achievements made at this meeting and raised detailed goals for teaching and research team building, quality project organization, quality course construction, faculty development and good outcome production. She asked all faculty to carry forward the education ideology of predecessors Yu Baosheng, Chen Zhongying and Chen Qiongling, and to put high priority on upgrading faculty competency. She called upon every Hwa Nan person to work hard, to collaborate, to be creative, to be indifferent to fame and wealth, and to make due contributions to the college with a high sense of responsibility and strong sense of mission taking teaching and research work as a new growing point for the college.
