On the afternoon of Oct. 14, the second awarding meeting for outstanding alumni was held in Yu Baosheng Lecture Hall.  The event was one of a series of activities celebrating the 112th anniversary of Hwa Nan and the 35th anniversary of reestablishment of new Hwa Nan.  Elderly alumna representatives Ma Xiufa, He Xiaozhi, Council Chair Su Mengna, President Ren Jianhong, Vice President Huang Leijing， and Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia attended the ceremony.  Outstanding alumni representatives, some faculty members and students participated.  Zhen Ling the general secretary of the alumni association presided over the meeting.

President Ren Jianhong on behalf of Hwa Nan leadership group, faculty and students extended warmest congratulations to the awardees. She said alumni are the valuable assets of Hwa Nan.  The development and the construction of Hwa Nan cannot move forward without the help and support from alumni.  She wished alumni carry forward the Hwa Nan motto of “self reliance, openness, diligence, dedication” and strive to make contributions to the social development and national prosperity.  She expected alumni all over the world to keep close contacts with the alma mater, pay attention to and participate in the development of Hwa Nan.  She also encouraged students to learn from the outstanding alumni, to have strong sense of self reliance and self improvement, and to succeed in their study.

President of Hwa Nan Alumni Association read the decision to honor the outstanding alumni.  Twenty-nine alumni were commended.  Representatives of outstanding alumni Ouyang Xuefang and Lin Haiyan gave speeches, sharing their work and life experience and expressing their love and gratitude to Hwa Nan.  Senior alumna Sa Benmao and other outstanding alumni expressed best wishes to Hwa Nan via video.
