On the afternoon of May 20, the awarding ceremony for 2019-2020 Scholarship was held in the auditorium. Four hundred and fifty people attended the ceremony. They are Deputy Party Secretary Wu Lanjia, directors from President’s Office, Party Committee Office, Finance Office, Student Affairs Office, and Dean’s Office, party branch secretaries, student counselors, scholarship recipients and student representatives.
Deputy Party Secretary Wu Lanjia introduced the selection procedure of 2019-2020 Scholarships and announced the Decision about Awarding 2019-2020 Scholarships. In 2019-2020 academic year, there are six National Scholarship awardees, one hundred and thirty National Encouragement Scholarship awardees, nine Fujian Hongli Foundation Scholarship awardees, fifteen Fujian North American Alumnae Association Scholarship awardees, and two hundred and sixty eight Hwa Nan Scholarship awardees. After that, leaders presented scholarship awards to the recipients. National Scholarship recipient Chen Qian, National Encouragement Scholarship recipient Lin Yuting, and other scholarship awardees gave reports on their growing experience and shared their thoughts with the audience. They expressed gratitude to the country and the college and encouraged fellow students to pursue their dreams and create better future.
In the end, Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia delivered a concluding speech. She hoped scholarship recipients treasure the honor, guard against arrogance and impetuosity, play positive and exemplary role, lead other students to study hard and build a community daring to achieve new heights. She put forward a three-point proposal. First, she called for in-depth learning of the histories of the Party and striving to become model students. Second, she urged students to rise up to the mission and keep on advancing. Third, she suggested students learn from role models, find the right directions in serving the motherland and the people, realize the values and compose beautiful chapters of youth with a sense of responsibility.
