On June 16, Hwa Nan Yangcai Science and Technology Base was officially approved by China Association for Science and Technology as a demonstration base for learning style development. The supporting program for learning style development demonstration base is a science maestro publicity program rolled out jointly by the general offices of China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering for supporting higher education institutions to establish student clubs, workshops and hobby groups. One hundred and fifty-nine demonstration bases are approved, fifteen of which are from Fujian province. Hwa Nan is the only private vocational college approved.
