On the morning of October 9, the school-opening ceremony for 1471 new students of Class 2021 was held in the sports field.  Council Chair Su Mengna, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Wang Haiyan, Vice President Zhang Quiping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Party Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia, all faculty and staff attended the ceremony.

The ceremony started in the solemn national anthem.  President Ren Jianhong on behalf of all faculty and staff delivered warm welcome and raised expectations for the new students.  She said as the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered a critical period, students shall bear the responsibility of the mission on the shoulders.  She expected that students study hard and become pillars who have both moral integrity and professional competence and are capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation.

The ceremony concluded with the award presentation.  Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia read the President’s Order of Commendation.  President Ren Jianhong presented the President Commendation Plates to Ye Xiangqi and Wang Wenkang from Hotel Management Program Class 2020 and issued them the titles of Campus Safety Guards.  She encouraged all new students to look up to them and strive to be good people.
