On the afternoon of September 8, Hwa Nan solemnly held the 37th Teacher’s Day celebration and commendation meeting.  The meeting was attended by Council Chair Su Mengna, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Wang Haiyan, Vice President Huang Leijing and Zhang Qiuping, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Lanjia, all faculty, staff and some students.  Vice President Huang Leijing chaired the meeting. 

President Ran Jianhong on behalf of Hwa Nan conveyed respect and greetings to all faculty and staff.  She affirmed the achievement made in the past year and thanked teachers for their hard work.  She put forward three requirements for all faculty and staff.  The first is to be committed to the mission of cultivating talents and fostering virtue.  The second is to keep up with the times and become all-arounders.  The third is to care and respect students and be their guidance.     She wished all faculty and staff stay true to the original aspirations of imparting knowledge, educating people and fostering virtue.  She hoped they carry forward Hwa Nan’s motto of self-improvement, pioneering, diligence, and dedication, keep on striving and pursuing excellence with high sense of responsibility and mission,  and write a new chapter for vocational higher education in the new era.

Party Secretary Wang Haiyan read the decision on commendation of outstanding workers for 2020-2021 academic year.  Council Chair Su Mengna, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Wang Haiyan bestowed certificates of honor on outstanding individuals and organizations, including thirty-six workers winning outstanding worker awards, Admission and Student Employment Office winning the May Day Pioneer award, and the Labor Group of Education Department winning Model Home of Employees.

Outstanding worker representatives Cai Yuhua and Zhang Lingjuan delivered acceptance speeches.  They shared with audience their thoughts and feelings about teaching and said they will continue to be committed to teaching, cultivating talents and making contributions to Hwa Nan’s development.

Afterwards, nineteen newly recruited teachers and other students from Education major solemnly swore of staying true to the original aspiration and mission of imparting knowledge and cultivating people, and fostering virtue in education. 

The 37th Teacher’s Day celebration and commendation meeting ended in an emotional song sung by Preschool Education students.
