On the afternoon of December 7, the second student counselor competency competition was held by Student Affairs Office.  Council Chair Su Mengna, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Li Tingwang, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Lanjia, CPC Committee Office Director Chen Meiyun were judges of the competition.

The competition consists of knowledge written test and case study sessions.  Written test examines counselors’ theoretical and practical knowledge.  Case study evaluates counselors’ analyzing, judging and problem solving abilities.

Seventeen student counselors participated the competition.  After fierce competition, Guo Hongxia from Department of International Business & Management won the first prize.  Luo Yingyan and Fang Jiahui from Department of International Buisness & Management achieved the second prizes.  Chen Yunling, Jiang Wenqian from Department of Education and Yu Erbiao from Department of Health Services received the third prizes.  Guo Honglei from Department of International Business & Management won the Excellency Award of Basic Knowledge Unit.  Zhang Dan from Department of Art Design received the Excellency Award of Case Study Unit.  Branch Party Secretary Liu Shan from Department of International Business & Management  was honored the title of Excellent Instructor.

Party Secretary gave comments after the competition.  He said the Student Counselor Competency Competition fully displayed the overall competency and spirit of Hwa Nan student counselor team.  He expected all counselors to adapt the competition’s requirements and standards in their daily work, to serve students better and to deliver good work in managing students and building healthy school ethos and learning practice.

This competition intertwined training, learning, and developing together.  It enhanced the political, theoretical and professional competency of student counselor team and effectively promoted the ideological and political education of Hwa Nan.
