During the lunch time of December 21, the third teaching workshop of this semester was held in the training building.  Teacher Chen Yong from Art and Design Department was invited to give a lecture on tie-dye and twenty teachers attended the workshop.

Teacher Chen Yong has been focusing on the preservation and education of intangible cultural heritage.  Tie dye is a unique Chinese traditional dying technique.   At the teaching workshop,  Chen Yong shared dying methods and collections of tie dye with participants.  The workshop was lively and the teachers showed great interest experiencing the beauty of this Chinese traditional technique.  Seeing a white cloth turning into a unique beautiful print after procession,  teachers realized the amazement and the fun of handmaking. 

Intangible cultural heritage is a treasure left by ancestors.  Through learning. teachers hope to impart and carry forward the traditional culture and bring students closer to the traditional culture.
