The inaugural meeting of the Second Council of Fuzhou Municipal Peoples’ Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries was held in Fuzhou on December 24, 2021.  College Advisor Prof. Gordon Trimble is appointed as Member of the Second Council of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Since 1889, five generations of the Trimble family have made unremitting efforts for education of Fujian province.  Since August 2005, Prof. Gordon Trimble has volunteered teaching in Hwa Nan for one semester each year.  He taught many courses and guided students to achieve first prizes in provincial English speaking competitions and third prizes in national competitions.  He is devoted to promoting cultural and educational exchanges between China and the USA, facilitating the cooperation and exchange between Hwa Nan and Pudget Sound University.  He sponsored more than twenty American students and teachers to study Chinese culture in China.  He loves China and cares about the development of China, attending many big events of Fujian province and meeting with provincial leaders.

Prof. Gordon Trimble said the appointment is acknowledgement and encouragement for him.  He will as always tell well stories of Fujian, contribute to cultural exchanges between China and America, and promote friendship between the Chinese and American people.
