To have better understanding of disadvantaged students’ family situation, to enhance teacher-parent communication, and to improve the financial aid system in providing targeted assistance, twenty-eight teachers led by Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia paid home visits during 2022 winter vocation to seventeen students with financial difficulties in Nin De, Pu Tian and the other three areas.

During the visits, teachers from each department gave detailed interpretations on national and school’s financial aid policies and extended condolence money to each family.   They learned about students’ family situation and growing environment, relayed to parents their children’s study and living conditions on campus, encouraged parents to support their children to focus on study, and eased economic concerns of the parents.

Winter vocation home visits delivered Hwa Nan’s care and love to the disadvantaged students,  helped parents better understand Hwa Nan and their children’s performance, brought Hwa Nan, students and parents closer, established a good teacher-parent collaboration mechanism and formed education synergy for students’ development.
