On the morning of June 15, the commencement titled “fulfill dreams, set adrift” was solemnly held in the college auditorium for 1365 graduates of Class 2022. Council Chair Su Mengna, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Li Tingwang, Vice President Zhang Qiuping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia, department chairs, Party branch secretaries, office directors, program directors, student counselors attended the commencement hosted by Vice President Huang Leijing.
The commencement started with the national anthem. In her speech addressing the commencement, President Ren Jianhong expected all graduates to temper a lofty character, improve abilities, build strength, shoulder responsibilities, dare to explore, become craftsmen of the nation with ideals, ideas, technology, and let the youth blossom in the places where needed them most. She asked them not to forget to come back to the school no matter where they go.
President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Li Tingwang, Vice President Zhang Qiuping respectively called out the names of graduates, the names of the provincial and municipal honorary rolls, and the names of outstanding graduates. They presented diplomas, awarded certificates and posed for photos with awardees.
Du Yujing representing graduates recalled three year campus life and expressed her gratitude and love towards Hwa Nan. Teacher Yi Haoqing sent congratulation and encouragement to the graduates. Outstanding alumnus Huang Shaoqing shared her entrepreneurship experience and encourage graduates to do their best, and to remain grateful and kind.
Three students from Early Childhood Education program presented the school a gift of their handmade cro -stitch embroidery of President Xi’s inscription "Women are not inferior to men, and Hwa Nan women of distinction appear one after another", the words they would like to share with all graduates for mutual encouragements.
A special session of this year’s commencement is awarding letters of appointment to twenty three graduates of Class 2022 to be the alumni coordinators. They will play bridging roles between Hwa Nan and alumni and become bellwethers of carrying forward Hwa Nan spirit, facilitators of networking and serving alumni, and practitioners of promoting the development of Hwa Nan.
In the end of the commencement, students from preschool education program performed a chorus “the sea of stars”, wishing each graduate has her own sea of stars in the future.
