On the afternoon of March 15, Hwa Nan held the 5th Young Teachers’ Segment Teaching Competition to strengthen young teachers’ teaching fundamentals and abilities, enhance classroom teaching level, and encourage young teachers’ commitment to teaching reform. Council Chair Rongmin Yu, President Jianhong Ren, Party Secretary Tingwang Li, Vice-president Qiuping Zhang, Vice-president Leijing Huang and all teachers observed the teaching demonstration.
Six teachers presented fifteen minute segment teaching with distinctive features. The tense and captivating competition drew rounds of applause from the audience. This year’s competition invited teacher Jiangnan Chen, the First Prize Winner of Provincial Vocational College Teaching Skill Competition, to give a teaching demonstration and to share her competition experience . After the competition, Professor Zhikang Feng specially invited from Fujian Normal University as a judge gave comments and he fully affirmed the contestants’ performance.
Hwa Nan has already run young teachers’ teaching competitions for the fifth consecutive time. This year’s competition built the platform for young teachers to demonstrate their talent and to exchange. It promoted the growth of young teachers, further inspired young teachers’ motivation and initiative to upgrade their education and teaching philosophy, to master modern teaching methods, and therefore pushed teaching reform and improved teaching quality.
After fierce competition, Xinxing Huang won the first prize. Yuan Chen and Dan Zhang got the second prizes. Xiuzhen Chen, Daying Liao, Miaomiao Li received the third prizes.
