To carry forward the spirit of model workers, hard work and craftsmanship and to promote the social norm of honoring labor, valuing skills, and lauding creation , Hwa Nan Vocational Education Week and Vocational Education Exhibits kicked off on May 17.  The week-long diverse event was organized by all departments, revolving around the theme of skills for a better life , and demonstrating professional skills based on each department’s characteristics.  

On the afternoon of May 17, Hwa Nan Vocational Education Week and Vocational Education Exhibits for 2023 opened on the athletic field.  Hwa Nan leaders, office directors, department chairs, teachers and students attended the opening ceremony.  President Jianhong Ren gave a speech at the ceremony.

During the Vocational Education Week, diverse activities including skill demonstrations, vocational interactions, cultural products market opening, innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, and lectures were held.  Forty-one skill display booths were set up, which include health communication, hand craft display, food carving, health evaluation, ERP simulation game, paper cutting, book mark making, felt craft making, English skit performance, comic book voiceover, tea art and appraisal, cocktail making, artistic design in tea foam, incense lore, flower arrangement, tie dying, embroidery, make over and more.

The runway show for 2023 graduation design work of Clothing Design and Image Design majors was staged on the same day.  This year’s show displayed twenty-six series and seventy-four sets of designs in progressive, romantic and classic styles, delivering beauty and cultural meanings.
