Hwa Nan 2023 Commencement


On the morning of June 14, Hwa Nan hosted 2023 commencement ceremony in the college auditorium.  Council Chair Rongmin Yu, President Jianhong Ren, Party Secretary Tingwang Li, Vice President Qiuping Zhang, Vice President Leijing Huang, Deputy Secretary Lanjia Wu, mid-level administrators, department chairs, party branch secretaries, and students attended the commencement.  Vice President Leijing Huang was the master of the ceremony.

The commencement started with the national anthem.  In her opening remarks,  President Jianhong Ren summarized the three years’ development of Hwa Nan and the outstanding achievement made by graduates.  She hoped the graduates will have ideals, work hard, integrate personal aims into the era of profound changes, connect closely together with the prospects and destinies of the country,  consciously shoulder historic mission and social responsibilities, and achieve self-fulfillment in making contributions to the country and the nation.

After the opening remarks, President Jianhong Ren and Party Secretary Tingwang Li read the names of graduates and the outstanding graduates, presented diplomas and certificates, and posed for group photos.

Graduating student Siyu Wu on behalf of graduates recalled the three years of study and expressed gratitude and love towards Hwa Nan.  Student Xinyu Ma extended best wishes to all graduates.  Teacher Zhongyu Tian addressed the expectations for the graduates. 

Xiaojiang Cheng, outstanding alumna of Applied English Class 1989 and member of HR100 China, shared her career success experience and encouraged graduates to enhance their comprehensive ability to respond to the opportunity and challenge in this time of uncertainty.

Vice President Leijing Huang called on students to look up to alumna Xiaojiang Cheng and write a rewarding chapter of their life.  She announced the names of alumni coordinators of Class 2023 and wished they act as liaison between Hwa Nan and alumni, uniting and leading all alumni to support Hwa Nan.

The commencement closed out with students from Culture and Education Department singing the song “I remember”.
