On October 21, Hwa Nan held the 115th anniversary celebration meeting in the college auditorium.  Distinguished guests attending the meeting include President Bian Xia from Jinling Women’s College of Nanjing Normal University, Former President, Professor and Director of Wu Yifang Research Center Qian Huanqi from Jinling Women’s College of Nanjing Normal University, Chief Editor Xu Lei from Press of Nanjing Normal University, Chairman of Fuman Group and Vice Chair of Hwa Nan Hong Kong Board of Trustees Lin Mingsen.  Council Director Yu Rongmin, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Li Tingwang, Vice President Zhang Qiuping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia, descendants of the college founder Gordon Trimble and his wife Sonia Trimble, former school leaders, senior alumnae, retired teachers, alumnae of new Hwa Nan, faculty and staff, and student representatives got together in the auditorium and celebrated the 115th anniversary of Hwa Nan.  The meeting was moderated by Vice President Huang Leijing.  

The meeting commenced in the national anthem.  President Ren Jianhong on behalf of the college extended warm welcome and sincere thanks to the leaders and guests for attending the meeting and offered highest salutations to all Hwa Nan builders and contributors.

President Bian Xia from Jinling Women’s College of Nanjing Normal University, Mr. Gordon Trimble and outstanding alumna Lin Haiyan delivered speeches and extended best wishes to Hwa Nan.  Senior alumnae, former leaders, and new Hwa Nan alumni representatives also expressed their sincere wishes for Hwa Nan via video link. 

Party Secretary Li Tingwang read out the letter of appreciation and thanked generous alumni and philanthropists.  Chair Yu Rongmin awarded the honorary plagues to them.

Student representatives from five departments presented their long planned and well prepared gifts to celebrate the anniversary of the alma mater.

The book of the Oral History of Hwa Nan Outstanding Alumnae was released at the meeting.  Council Chair Yu Rongmin gave a summary about the book writing process.  The project expert Zhou Yongqing gave reading guidance of this book.  Council Chair Yu Rongmin and President Ren Jianhong signed the books coded Number 1 and Number 2, which were received by Hwa Nan Library Director Chen Feng for entering the collection of Hwa Nan library.

Hwa Nan teachers and students put on amazing performance of poetry reading, folk music and college song chorus, bringing an end to the celebration.
