From December 2 to December 6, Student Artistic Practice Workshop Show of the 7th University Student Art Festival of Fujian Province hosted by Fujian Education Department and organized by Fujian Normal University and Xiamen University was held in the exhibition hall of Fuzhou University Town Art Center.  The Wool Felting Workshop from Art Education Program of Culture and Education Department participated the show for the first time, entered the final competition and won the second prize among the Group A candidates. 

The Wool Felting Workshop was established in May 2015 for the purpose of promoting students to have broader outlook on life.

Since undertaking the task in the summer, all teachers and students of Art Education Program were motivated.  Under leadership of Program Director Liu Lili and guidance of Program Academic Leader Wen Xingxia, a participating team of teachers and students was quickly formed.  The design scheme was discussed and decided.  The preparation started.

Hwa Nan Wool Felting Workshop presented pieces of “Qianli Jiangshan Tu (A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains)” and “The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting”at the show, using techniques of wool felting and the national intangible cultural heritage cork painting to create shapes of splendid rivers and mountains and images of dancers.

At the site, students actively interacted with visitors and guided them to experience wool felting.

On December 6, Hwa Nan Party Secretary Li Tingwang and Vice President Huang Leijing came to the Art Show.  They applauded the theme and the design of the series of art work.  Li said the pieces presented by the Wool Felting Workshop carries forward the Chinese aesthetics and reflects the Art Education team’s spirit of youth.
