On December 27, 2023, Teaching Experience Exchange and Research Seminar was held in Yu Baosheng Lecture Hall. Dean of Academic Affairs Office Pan Shaofang moderated the meeting.
Vice President Zhang Qiuping gave a review of the achievements made in teaching and research in Year 2023. She affirmed the efforts of teachers put forward in the research and skill competitions. She said Hwa Nan is pushing forward the teaching reform centering around the talent cultivation, and making quality improvement targeting the goal of high level higher vocational college and program development. She hoped teachers exert efforts and enthusiasm to upgrade the teaching and research level, and fulfill high quality development.
In 2023, Hwa Nan teachers published thirty-six research papers. One paper was published in Springer Nature. Teachers obtained six research project grants at or above provincial level. One patent was authorized. Teachers won one first prize, one second prize, one third prize in teaching skill competitions. Three text books were published. Twenty awards at or above third prize were achieved in the provincial vocational skill competitions run by education authorities. Twenty-six awards at or above third prize were achieved in various skill competitions run by industry associations and academies. Department of International Business Management won the best organization award. Council Chair and college leaders presented awards and prizes to the winners.
Eight teachers shared their knowledge, research and practice on integration between industry and education. Teacher Lin Ting talked about the practice and application is the lifeline of vocational education. Teacher Zheng Lin, Yu Xiudi, and Chen Jianxia elaborated the key to deepen vocational education reform lies in industry education integration and school enterprise cooperation. Qian Xiaoyun, Song Ge, Huang Fei and Chen Meiyun presented a review on whole person education and virtue-skill cultivation.
Teaching Experience Exchange and Research Seminar offers a communication platform for teachers to share experience and to learn from each other. It encourages and guides teachers to build up a new teaching model combing talent training, knowledge innovation, technology development and social service.
