On the afternoon of May 29, 2024, accompanied by Li Hong and Huang Weizhi, alumnae from Hwa Nan North American Alumni Association, Council Chair Yu Rongmin, President Ren Jianhong and Alumni Association President Yang Shuqin visited American Fujian Business Association in New York. They were warmly welcomed by President Yu Guangwu, Executive Vice President Hu Yangde and Fuzhou entrepreneurs. The two sides exchanged views on female education and entrepreneurship.
President Yu Guangwu introduced the original intention, development status and main functions of American Fujian Business Association. His introduction outlined the vivid picture of overseas entrepreneurs' hard work, perseverance, patriotism and love of the home town, and showed the pure heart of overseas entrepreneurs. President Yu especially stressed the importance of education to the next generation, to the business development and the national pride of overseas Chinese. He said the Association will continue to support Chinese education.
Council Chair Yu Rongmin first expressed her gratitude to President Yu Guangwu and the vice presidents for their warm reception. She then introduced the two purposes of the trip. One is to restart the cooperation with sister schools in the United States and expand the overseas study platform for Hwa Nan graduates. The second is to promote Hwa Nan to overseas entrepreneurs for better understanding of Hwa Nan spirit. President Ren Jianhong gave a report on the development and educational achievements of Hwa Nan to the entrepreneurs of the Association. She said that Hwa Nan will implement General Secretary Xi’s inscription of Women are not inferior to men. Hwa Nan women of distinction appear one after another and cultivate good talents. She also welcomed entrepreneurs of American Fujian Business Association to visit Hwa Nan.
Gifts were exchanged at the end of the meeting. American Fujian Business Association gave Hwa Nan the Fu character, which symbolizes personal happiness, family harmony and national prosperity and wish Hwa Nan a better future. Council Chair Yu Rongmin presented the scarf made by Hwa Nan teachers and students to President Yu Guangwu. President Yu said, This gift is precious. It is the deep feelings and good wishes of Hwa Nan teachers and students to American Fujian Business Association. We will cherish this friendship.” This trip was strongly supported by the alumnae of Hwa Nan North American Alumni Association. It deepened the friendship between Hwa Nan and American Fujian Business Association. Hwa Nan will continue to carry forward the fine tradition of Fu culture and make unremitting efforts to cultivate more talents with international vision and cultural heritage.
