On June 5, the 2024 Scholarship Commendation Meeting was held. Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia, Vice President Zhang Qiuping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Heads of Student Affairs Office, Dean’s Office, Practical Training Center, Enrollment and Employment Office, Finance Department, representatives of Alumni Association, sponsors, party branch Secretaries, student counselors and award-winning students, and a total of more than 250 people attended the commendation meeting.
The meeting started with the national anthem. Chen Qing, Director of the Student Affairs Office, read the decision of Fujian Hwa Nan Women’s College on recognizing the students who won scholarships in 2024. In the 2023-2024 academic year, Hwa Nan commends 10 national scholarship winners, 161 National Encouragement Scholarship winners, 135 Craftsmanship Scholarship winners, 475 College Scholarship winners, 10 Hard-working Scholarship winners, 15 North American Alumni Scholarship winner, and 9 Lim Chung-hyun and Mrs. Lim Mui-ying Couple Scholarship winners.
In the warm applause, the leaders presented the awards to representatives of winners.
Lin Jiaqi, National Scholarship winner, Lin Yeopeng, Craftsmanship Scholarship winner, Lin Chung-hyun, and Pan Yufei, the Couple Scholarship winners, gave speeches sharing their own growth experiences and thoughts and encouraging fellow students to forge ahead together to make greater contributions to society.
Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia extended warm congratulations to all the winning units and individuals, expressed heartfelt thanks to the hard-working teachers, and paid high tribute to the caring people from all walks of life who have cared for and supported the development of Hwa Nan and enthusiastically funded the students of Hwa Nan over the years.
She put forward three hopes for the award-winning students. First, inherit the spirit of Hwa Nan and strengthen their ideals and beliefs, keep in mind the motto of self-improvement, pioneering, diligent, dedication, carry forward Hwa Nan spirit, strive to forge ahead, and become a dream seeker who lives up to her youth. Second, have a grateful heart and adhere to the responsibility. In the face of difficulties and challenges, be firm and fully demonstrate the responsibility. Third, labor creates happiness and skills achieve the future. Grasp the key learning period at school, always solidly focus on seeking knowledge, and keep on striving to practice the basic skills for life and career. She called on all of us to work hard together, forge ahead bravely, write new chapters and create new glory.
