Hwa Nan Signed Cooperation Memorandum with Thonburi University


On August 19, Vice President Huang Leijing and Dean of School of Continuing Education Liu Shan were invited to visit Thonburi University in Bangkok, Thailand.  They were warmly received by Vice Presidents, Assistant President, and deans of School of Public Administration, School of Communication, School of Law, School of Business Administration, and School of Science and Technology, International College director and other leaders, teachers of Thonburi University.  The two sides held friendly exchanges in the International VIP Hall of Thonburi University.

The meeting was presided over by President Assistant Lin Xu.  Executive Vice President of Thonburi University, on behalf of the President delivered a welcoming speech.  He highly praised the brilliant history of Fujian Hwa Nan Women’s College in 116 years, expressed admiration for the school running philosophy of education for the formation of the highest personality of women, and stressed that this philosophy has made outstanding contributions to the education and talent training of Chinese women at home and abroad.  Executive Vice President expressed his warm welcome to Hwa Nan visit and looked forward to hand in hand cooperation and development of the two schools.

Vice President Huang Leijing first expressed her sincere thanks to Thonburi University for its high-level reception, and highly commended Thonburi University for its international influence as a well-known institution of higher learning in Thailand, especially the full-time undergraduate women's College founded by the school, whose educational purpose of cultivating outstanding international women in the new era coincides with the educational philosophy of Hwa Nan.  She hoped that this visit can promote the implementation of bilateral cooperation projects and make new contributions to the educational cooperation between China and Thailand.

During the discussion, the two sides introduced the overview of their respective schools through video, jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation, presented gifts, and took a group photo to record the unforgettable moment.  The delegation also accepted an interview with Thailand's Fifth Television station, sharing topics such as educational cooperation and cultural exchanges.

President Bangorn Benjathikul of Thonburi University met the delegation in the President's office.  Vice President Huang Leijing, on behalf of President Ren Jianhong, extended sincere greetings to President Bangorn Benjathikul and invited her and other university leaders to visit Hwa Nan to further deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two schools.

On the same day, the delegation, accompanied by President Assistant Lin Xu, visited the campus of Thonburi University, teaching and living facilities, the women's college teaching building and female student dormitory.  Thonburi University covers an area of 2,500 mu.  It has more than 27,000 students including more than 4,000 Chinese students, highlighting its international characteristics as a modern university.  The discipline setting of Thonburi University matches with Hwa Nan, and it offers master and doctoral degree programs.  We believe the two schools will carry out more extensive and in-depth cooperation in many fields such as teacher and student exchange, talent training, scientific research, and jointly write a new chapter in China-Thailand educational cooperation.
