On the morning of September 9, the opening ceremony for Class 2024 was held in the sports field.  2,652 freshmen started a new university career, full of passion and dreams.  President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Li Tingwang, Vice President Zhang Qiuping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Lanjia and all staff members attended the meeting. The ceremony was moderated by Deputy Secretary Wu Lanjia.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the national flag guards marched toward the flag-raising platform.  The bright five-star red flag rose slowly in the sports field, with thousands of teachers and students singing the national anthem. 

After the flag-raising ceremony, President Ren Jianhong delivered a speech. On behalf of the school, she welcomed the 2024 freshmen to join Hwa Nan family, and encouraged everyone with the college song to become oneself and to achieve success both in oneself and in others.  She encouraged the freshmen to cultivate patriotic feelings in the great era of national rejuvenation and in the infinite and vast stage of life, strive to be mission bearers in the new era, and always move forward firmly on the road of pursuing lofty aspirations, no matter what environment they are in and any difficulties they encounter.  She hoped that the new students can firmly grasp the critical period of growth and the golden place for success, cherish their time, work hard, discipline themselves, and learn autonomously, so that they can not only keep up with the rapid development of the times, but also master basic knowledge and cultivate advanced ability at Hwa Nan.

The opening ceremony came to an end with warm applause.  The new academic year is a new starting point.  All the teachers and students will devote themselves to study and work with more enthusiasm and more high morale, and contribute their own strength to the development and construction of the school.  With the joint efforts of all teachers and students, Hwa Nan will usher in a more brilliant tomorrow.
