President Ren Visit Catholic Universty Of Daegu and Kyungwoon University, Korea


From November 11 to 15, President Ren Jianhong and Vice President Huang Leijing were invited to visit Catholic Universty Of Daegu and Kyungwoon University in Daegu, Korea, and were warmly received by the two universities.  Cordial and friendly exchanges were conducted and cooperation and exchange agreements were signed.


On November 12, the delegation first visited Catholic Universty Of Daegu.  The university was founded in 1914 and has 110 years of history.  It was the famous  Hyosung Women's Junior College, began to recruit male students in 1994 and was renamed Catholic Universty Of Daegu.  The delegation visited the Hyosung campus.  At present, there are 80 majors in 16 colleges, 600 professors and more than 18,000 students, including about 1,000 Chinese students.

At the International College of the University, the delegation had a talk with the Chinese students of the university to learn about the study and life at the university.  Director of the International Department welcomed the visit of the delegation.  The two sides watched the publicity videos of the two schools, and had detailed and in-depth exchanges on the requirements of 3+1 bachelor programs and master degree programs, bilingual teaching mode and graduation conditions for majors of media art design, health care science, artificial intelligence computer, and global business.  President Ren Jianhong thanked for the warm reception, and highly praised the beautiful campus environment of the University.  She said that during this visit she learned about the teaching facilities and academic system of the Catholic Universty Of Daegu, and hoped that the two schools will start long-term cooperation in the future in student and teacher exchange.  The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation and gave gifts to each other.

On November 13, the delegation visited Kyungwoon University in Daegu.  Kyungwoon University has one of the top aviation, nursing and fashion design disciplines in South Korea, and more than 1,000 of its 1,200 international students are from China.  The delegation was warmly received by President Kim Dong-jae of Kyungwoon University.  The two sides exchanged views on the plan to upgrade Hwa Nan students to a master's degree and exchange students, reached cooperation agreements and exchanged gifts.

Subsequently, accompanied by Song Jing, Director of the International Department of Kyungwoon University, the delegation visited the school's Medical Department, Aviation Department, Multimedia Design Studio and other teaching and training places.

During the visit, President Ren Jianhong warmly invited the leaders of the two schools to visit Hwa Nan.  In the future, Hwa Nan will strengthen exchanges with Catholic Universty Of Daegu and Kyungwoon University in Korea, starting from short-term research and exchange programs between teachers and students, and expanding to educational upgrading and cooperative scientific research projects, so as to make Hwa Nan more distinctive in opening up.
