On November 19, a delegation of teachers and students from University of Santiago de Cali, Colombia, the Maritime Silk Road partner school of Hwa Nan, visited Hwa Nan and signed a cooperation agreement. The meeting was held in the meeting room on the sixth floor of the complex building. President Ren Jianhong, Vice President Zhang Qiuping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Director of Academic Affairs Pan Shaofang, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office Cheng Mingqian, Director of Connected Universal Experiences Labs Luo Xun, Chairman of Fujian Rhino Intelligent Technology Co. Liu Xiangqun attended the meeting.
At the meeting, President Ren Jianhong extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced the achievements and characteristics of Hwa Nan in talent training, scientific research and foreign exchange. The representatives of University of Santiago de Cali shared the basic situation of the university and introduced the best majors.
Vice President Zhang Qiuping signed a project cooperation agreement with representatives of University of Santiago de Cali and the Connected Universal Experiences Labs. On the basis of the original cooperation, the two sides will deepen the Chinese + Vocational education project of the Digital Industry College, and carry out more extensive cooperation and exchanges in the virtual reality technologies of digital twin system, meta-universe.
During the visit, the delegation also visited Hwa Nan History Gallery, the industry-university-research base and the Rhino Digital Industry College, and discussed with the students of the Rhino Digital Industry College on issues such as marine digital twin and biodiversity. In the coming period of time, the delegation will be offered digital skills training and make 3D interactive works at Hwa Nan.
This visit further consolidated the partnership between Hwa Nan and University of Santiago de Cali. In the future, the two schools will comprehensively carry out multi-dimensional and deep cooperation in teacher and student exchange, joint curriculum development and teaching, professional skills improvement projects and customized training for enterprises, in the core areas of digital education, the inheritance and innovation of maritime silk road culture and South-South cooperation. Both schools will jointly strengthen the role of Maritime Silk Road College as a bridge of cultural and educational exchanges between the east and the west and promote the sharing and mutual benefit of global educational resources.
