On the morning of November 21, the opening ceremony of the 9th Sports Festival and Track and Field Meet was held in the playground.  Council Chair Yu Rongmin, President Ren Jianhong, Party Secretary Li Tingwang, Vice President Zhang Qiuping, Vice President Huang Leijing, Deputy Party secretary Wu Lanjia and all the teachers and students attended the opening ceremony.

Led by the national flag formation and the school flag formation, the twelve teams dressed in uniform walked with the sonorous pace and entered in turn amid the exciting music.  Their heroic posture, tall and upright, with smart dancing, passionate slogans and unique forms, fully demonstrate the youth and vigor of students at Hwa Nan.

This year’s meet set up 10 individual events, 7 team events, and 428 athletes participated. The athletes competed courageously, the referees ruled fairly, the staff strictly adhered to their duties, and the teachers and students jointly presented a wonderful sports event.  A total of 5 school sports records were broken in this games, and badminton and basketball competitions were also held in the early stage, creating a positive sports atmosphere in the campus.

After two days of fierce competition, Department of Health Service won the first place in the group total score.  Department of International Business Management won the second place in the group total score.  Department of Culture and Education won the third place in the group total score.  Department of Culture and Education won the Sportsmanship Award.

The success of this track and field sports meet fully demonstrates the enthusiasm and high spirit of Hwa Nan teachers and students in participating sunshine sports.  It creates a positive, enterprising, sincere and cooperative atmosphere, to improve the physical and mental quality of teachers and students, enhance the unity and the cohesion of the whole staff, and promote the scientific development of the school.
