On the afternoon of December 16, the sub-forum with themed Hou Guan Culture and Education Power of the third Hou Guan Forum was held in Minjiang University.  A number of experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Straits focused on Yan Fu, Chen Baochen, Lin Qi, Shen Baozhen, Sa Bendong, Wang Shijing and other famous educators in Hou Guan history, and carried out exchanges and discussions on their main experiences, educational ideas, and educational contributions.  President Ren Jianhong was invited to attend the sub-forum of Hou Guan Culture and Education Power and gave a keynote speech.

In the exchange and speech session, President Ren Jianhong used the lyrics of the school song of Hwa Nan to describe the educational career of Wang Shijing, the first Chinese female president of Hwa Nan, and the cultural spirit of patriotism, innovation and creation and hard work and responsibility embedded in, showing the great contributions made by Hou Guan women to the development of modern Chinese education.

President Ren also shared Hwa Nan’s active exploration and practice in the inheritance of Hou Guan culture in the new era.  She said that Wang Shijing's innovative spirit, dedication and feelings of family and country have influenced generations of Hwa Nan people.  Under the background of Building a leading country in education, serving society and serving development are still the bounden responsibility and mission of Hwa Nan.  Over the years, Hwa Nan has actively combined talent training with industrial needs, and strived to cultivate high-quality technical talents with Hwa Nan character through various forms such as the integration of production and education.  At the same time, Hwa Nan also focuses on cultivating students' sense of service and responsibility in volunteer service, public welfare activities and social practice activities, forming a number of volunteer service brands with social influence.

The successful holding of the forum not only built a bridge for exchanges and discussions between experts and scholars on both sides of the Strait, but also injected strong vitality into accelerating the construction of a powerful education country and striving to promote the practice of Chinese-style modernization in Fujian.  The Hou Guan culture has profound historical heritage and rich spiritual connotation, and still maintains strong vitality in the contemporary era.  Hwa Nan will continue to uphold the excellent character of Hou Guan sages, and nourish young students with the precious spirit of Hou Guan culture, and inject vitality into the educational cause in the new era.  Let the Houguan culture provide strong cultural support and spiritual impetus for the construction of new Fujian in the new development stage, and let the Houguan culture glow with new brilliance in the new era.
