President Ren Jianhong Attends Digital Empowerment Kick-Off Ceremony of Women's College Alliance under the Global Center for Digital Empowerment and Women’s Development

Recently, the digital empowerment initiative of the Women’s College Alliance under the ACWF Global Center for Digital Empowerment and Women’s Development was officially launched at China Women’s University. More than 30 representatives from 12 member institutions of the Chinese Women’s Higher Education Alliance attended the launch ceremony. President Ren Jianhong and Deputy Party Secretary Zhang Qiuping of our school were invited to participate in the event.

Zhang Dongmei, Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women’s Federation, warmly met with leaders of the Chinese Women’s Higher Education Alliance and engaged in discussions with them. She emphasized that launching the digital empowerment initiative for the Women’s College Alliance is a concrete measure to thoroughly implement the important directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping on promoting technological innovation and women’s development through digital empowerment. It is also an innovative practice to deepen the integration of women’s higher education with the digital era. She noted that member institutions have played a significant role in advancing women’s higher education and expressed hope that they would fully embrace the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the National Education Conference. She encouraged them to leverage the distinctive features of women’s colleges and their strengths in gender equality education to empower more women to contribute to building a digital China and achieving self-reliance in science and technology.

During the discussion, President Ren Jianhong showcased our school’s practices under the Digital Blossom and Digital Connectivity to the World initiatives to empower women’s development. Specific measures include  introducing AI application modules into IT general education courses, adding AI-related content to specialized programs, developing digital curricula, enhancing digital resource platforms, and boosting the digital literacy of both faculty and students.Furthermore, leveraging the Maritime Silk Road College platform and in collaboration with the Smart Network Interconnection lab, Hwa Nan has dispatched faculty to the University of Valle in Colombia to teach its characteristic fashion design courses, thereby contributing to the global digital empowerment initiative for women’s development.

Representatives from member institutions discussed and exchanged ideas on implementation plans for initiatives such as the Digital Intelligence Dandelion Classroom, Digital Talent Training Camp, and the connectivity of the alliance’s digital information platform. They shared relevant experiences in running their institutions and reached preliminary consensus on collaboration intentions and models.

Also on that day, President Ren Jianhong and Deputy Party Secretary Zhang Qiuping were guests at the 2025 Sino-German Conference on Sustainable Development, hosted by China Women’s University.
