Hwa Nan Successfully Completes Institutional Capacity Evaluation

From October 19 to 22, in accordance with the deployment of the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Department of Education for the institutional capacity evaluation of higher vocational colleges, the Fujian Provincial Education Evaluation and Research Center organized a nine-member expert panel headed by Professor Fu Gang, Dean of Sichuan Vocational College of Finance and Economics, to conduct an on-site evaluation of the College's institutional capacity.

During the on-site evaluation, the expert panel conducted a comprehensive review of the key elements in the College's operational-condition monitoring and teaching-quality assessment through multiple methods, including document review, in-depth interviews, program review, lesson plan presentations, classroom observations, course inspections, field visits, and consultative meetings and discussions.

At the expert feedback session, Professor Fu Gang, head of the expert panel, delivered feedback on behalf of the panel. He affirmed the College's achievements in recent years in Party building and ideological-political education, the integration of posts, courses, competitions, and certifications, and the distinctive Women's Education + Internationalization model. He also identified shortcomings in the College's current development and put forward targeted recommendations for improvement. Individual panel members then shared their respective feedback in turn.

President Ren Jianhong of the College delivered a statement of commitment on behalf of the institution. She expressed the College's sincere acceptance of all feedback from the expert panel without reservation. Moving forward, the College will systematically sort through the list of issues, formulate a rectification plan, break down rectification tasks, and specify responsible leadership, responsible departments, and completion deadlines. It will coordinate funding to increase investment in the key elements of talent cultivation, further standardize data collection and management, and conduct a scientific review of program adjustment directions and program cluster grouping logic. Concurrently, the College will establish and improve a rectification ledger and a regular supervision and reporting mechanism to ensure that rectification efforts deliver tangible, results-driven outcomes.

In her remarks, Su Xialing, Deputy Director-General of Education Supervision of the Fuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, noted that the College should take the institutional capacity evaluation as an opportunity to thoroughly implement the second half of rectification work, continuously enhance its distinctive educational identity, and steadily improve the quality of talent cultivation and graduate employability.

Fan Jing, Director of the Fujian Provincial Education Evaluation and Research Center, called on the College to develop a systematic rectification plan, focus on key areas to break through development bottlenecks, establish sound long-term mechanisms for continuous improvement with a long-term perspective, and firmly build upon its century-old legacy of women's education to deepen and substantiate its women-oriented distinctive identity in a sustained and concrete manner.
